NDF Overview

National Democratic Foundation (NDF) is the first and only national NGO in its category licensed under section 42 of Companies Ordinance, 1984 by SECP Government of Pakistan. NDF was licensed on 22nd May’ 2015 holding the License # 787, having the mandate to work dedicatedly on the growth and strengthening of democracy in Pakistan.

NDF is created by a group of like-minded intellectual people including philanthropists, journalists, bureaucrats, parliamentarians and judiciary to oversee the highest degree of transparency and accountability in governance, as envisioned by our founding father. It is NDF’s primary goal to see that the democratic demand of the people of Pakistan is fulfilled so they can enjoy and experience the fruits borne by democracy.

The broad scope of NDF affords it the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with a wide range of democratic institutions, including political parties, trade unions, academic institutions, and business organizations, etc. as well as many elements of a vibrant civil society and independent media. NDF effectively ensures that freedom of expression, belief and association, free and competitive elections, respect for the inalienable rights of individuals and minorities, free communications media, and the rule of law reigns supreme.
